Aw100 Firmware Hack

Hey everyone, I Just bought my CANON S3 two weeks ago from DELL. I'm a SUPER NEWB at all this and little by little trying catch on to the vocabulary that's used in the camera world. I saw this post and was wondering if I should do this hack. Or is it too much for me right now? The one thing that caught my attention is the battery meter. All the other stuff sounds cool, but really have no clue what it does. But then again, I would like it loaded in my camera just incase.

At the same time, my camera is new and is still under warranty and under dells warranty. Real Life Cam. What do you suggest? Top 40 Gratis En 2012. Thanks for your help.
