Archeologist and avid puzzle solver Professor Layton and his assistant Luke think back to one of their earliest cases together. Famed singer Janice Quatlane requests Layton's help after a strange meeting with a little girl. The girl claims to posses eternal life and to be the reincarnation of Janice's friend Melina. Layton and Luke attend Janice's new opera. At the end of the performance, the guests are startled to find that the entire opera house has been converted into a ship and a mystery man now holds them all captive.

The man forces them to solve a series of riddles. The winner will receive the secret to eternal life, but it could mean death for the losers.

After currently watching this on Blu-Ray the movie adaptation of the hit Nintendo DS games lives true to what The Prof is all about. Norma Iso 19011 Version 2011 here. This whole new adventure did not turn out to what I have expected, but it turned out better and very enjoyable. The story is just as gripping and interesting as the games themselves and filled with interesting characters new and old and off course what made the game so popular PUZZLES!! They were also a major factor of the story, in search for eternal life Layton and Luke encounter a number of puzzles on the way, that is when the movie goes back to it's roots as when it was a game, making you almost think your playing it, even though Layton and Luke solve them within minutes it was still enjoyable trying to guess the answer and seeing The Professor and his apprentice in action. Over all I highly recommend this movie to all fans of the series, and even people who never played the games and enjoy anime.
